Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Waytxt is a local utility that helps you photograph or import text in front of you, correct the recognized wording, and file a bilingual card on this device. Waytxt does not operate an account server or a public feed in this version.
2. Information stored on this iPhone
Waytxt keeps the following on the device, not on a Waytxt server:
- Photos you capture or import for a scan, including crop drafts
- Source text, translations, card look, type size, and language choice
- Filed cards and the date they were saved in the app
- Avatar choice and onboarding state
- Remaining Inks balance after a purchase or after you file a card
If you tap Save Card, a rendered image of that card may be written to Photos on this iPhone. Export stays on this device.
3. Permissions we request
Waytxt asks for access only after you tap the matching control. Declining a permission does not stop the rest of the app from working where that access is not required.
- Camera — when you tap Capture, to photograph street text, menus, screens, or paper.
- Photos (read) — when you tap Library, to import a screenshot or document you already have.
- Photos (add) — when you tap Save Card, to write the bilingual card into Photos.
- Microphone — when you tap Voice, to speak a correction to the recognized wording.
- Speech recognition — when you tap Voice, to turn that speech into text on the review screen.
- Tracking — after you tap Continue on the first-run screen. If you allow it, Waytxt may use the advertising identifier to measure campaign taps. Translation, capture, and filing still work if you decline.
Waytxt does not send you to Settings after a denial. You can still use Library if Camera is off, and you can still type if Voice is off.
4. In-app purchases
Inks are a consumable balance stored on this iPhone. Purchases go through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment. Waytxt records only the Inks granted on this device. Purchases cannot be restored to another device. Waytxt does not receive your full payment-card number.
5. Information we do not collect
- No Waytxt account, email sign-in, or password
- No public profile, comments, or social feed
- No contact list, location, Bluetooth, or health data
- No analytics SDK that uploads your cards or photos to a Waytxt server
6. Third parties
Apple provides the App Store, In-App Purchase, camera and Photos frameworks, speech recognition, and App Tracking Transparency. Their handling of information is described in Apple’s privacy policy. Waytxt does not sell your information.
7. Retention and deletion
Cards, drafts, photos used for a scan, and remaining Inks stay on this iPhone until you delete a card, log out of the ready state, or delete the account in Me. Delete Account removes local cards and remaining Inks on this device. Uninstalling Waytxt removes the app’s local store. Images you already saved to Photos remain in Photos until you remove them there.
8. Children
Waytxt is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app to store photos or text of children if you are not permitted to do so.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated text will be published at this URL with a new “Last updated” date.
10. Contact
Use the App Store listing for Waytxt to reach the developer. There is no in-app email form in this version.
